Uptown girl :: Finding the dress

I recently got engaged and thus a whirlwind chain of events ensued! There were engagement photos to be taken, a venue to be chosen and of course a dress to be found!  Uptown Bridal and Boutique was the obvious choice to start with, I had been there a few times but always as a wedding planner, and never as a Bride. If you have ever taken a walk down Boston Street in Chandler, you probably noticed that on the corner of Arizona Ave and Boston St. are beautifully dressed windows featuring mannequins in gowns that sparkle! From the moment you walk into Uptown you feel like you're at a Sunday brunch with girlfriends. Owners, Nicole and Tonia are sincere in their joy and enthusiasm for your big day and clearly experts in gorgeous gowns. The gowns are out and not wrapped in bags, and the show room can transform any little girl back to childhood memories of playing dress up.  From the detail in the ceiling to the lovely framed pictures of Uptown Brides on their special day, not a detail is missed.   upt2   My appointment was on a Thursday with Ali, she immediately wanted to know my love story, to which I of course obliged,  her genuine interest was refreshing and sweet.  As Ali and I chatted on, my Mom and Sister patiently waited as I walked out with the first dress on, the door opened, a silence and then gasps. I had found the one. How was it possible to find the "one" on the first try? Coincidentally Tim and I both agreed we fell in love at first sight, so maybe I was having a perfect fit at first dress moment? They say when you know, you know,  and I knew I found my dress. Just as everything else in the planning process, finding your dress for your wedding day should be an unforgettable experience and one that will you will always cherish, I know I will never forget that special Thursday in September when I put the dress on that turned me into a Bride. Thank you Ali! With all that Life has to offer, Sara
