Whose Wedding IS This?

We’ve all been to weddings that are very traditional. There are no surprises. You could plug in any couple and the results would be the same. But what about couples that want to shake things up a bit? We say, “What are you waiting for?!?  DO IT!!”

Weddings are meant to be personal! Don’t be afraid to get rid of any “normal” wedding standards that don’t fit with your style.  Adding personal touches is what makes your wedding memorable!

Feeding each other cake makes you cringe? Get creative with dessert!

Donuts, pies, cake pops, and ice cream can be displayed in fun ways that give you the sweet treats you want without the frosting-in-the-face mess.  If you still want cake, do the cake cutting while your guests are eating or dancing. There will be less of an audience and no pressure to perform!

You and your guests aren’t the dancing type? Create an interactive experience!

Casino games, photo booths, food trucks, flair bar tending, and caricaturists are an awesome way to involve your guests at the reception even if dancing is not their thing!

Have a passion for something? Let your freak flag fly!

If you met at a baseball game, have guests sign baseballs or a glove instead of a guest book. If you are die hard comic book fans, name your tables after superheroes and/or villains. If you never miss the Tony Awards, have a theater group do a medley of your favorite show tunes at the reception. Your friends and family know what’s important to you and they will love seeing it incorporated into your special day.

Formality makes you uncomfortable?  Go for a laid back vibe!

Start the wedding with cocktail hour. Have guests stand or gather around you during the ceremony instead of sitting in rows. During the reception, have food stations and casual seating like couches or pub tables to give your guests a chance to mingle with everyone. Or get really laid back with a picnic atmosphere.

Have a family tradition? Share it with your guests!
