Cicely and I were invited to downtown Phoenix for a tour of the Sheraton Phoenix Downtown Hotel recently and we can't express how impressed we were! Our lovely tour guide was the Catering Sales Manager, Natalie Houston who moved to Phoenix from Hawai'i to work at this property. After spending our time with Natalie, we can't wait to plan an event in this urban playground!
This hotel has so many cool features from the interactive scrolling menu outside of their restaurant, District, to the giant hanging mosaic of hand blown glass water-drops that graces the entrance to the escalators. While strolling through the very open main level lobby (also referred to as "the park") you will find the Park Lounge with a great bar for keeping your guests entertained before or after your event. And don't get us started on the amazing outdoor spaces....
About three stories above the city streets sits the Oculus Space, which is an open air patio with great urban views of Phoenix. Oculus would be great for a ceremony and/or a small reception. However, on the other side of the hotel you will find another massive outdoor rooftop space that would easily fit a large wedding and reception. I'm dying to plan a rooftop event there!
The 4th floor features a rad outdoor pool complete with a pool bar and a courtyard. For a super cool "green" feature, the planters around the perimeter of the courtyard is where the herbs for the hotel's restaurants are grown. There are so many fun outdoor areas, but there are also beautiful indoor ballrooms if you aren't the outdoorsy type. Either way, if you are looking for a fantastic downtown Phoenix space for your next event, look no further and call us immediately!
